Living diversity and equal opportunities

Each of us is different. We have different strengths, weaknesses and talents. Nevertheless, we should all be promoted equally. Regardless of age, ethnicity and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and world view, sexual orientation and social background. At EOS, we are committed to this every day - whether through the thoughts and actions of each individual or company-wide initiatives.

Our vision

We become the central platform for equality and thus use gender equality in the entire group for innovative strength in the sense of the company's goals.

EOS is a PLACE where LGBTQ+ people can grow and diversity is lived by everyone throughout. Also beyond the boundaries of EOS.

Our mission

Together with all relevant stakeholders, we actively shape corporate and social responsibility in the EOS Group and shape the corporate culture.

A network of LGBTQ+ colleagues and supporters who stand by each other. Because we are only best and strongest together.

Everyone should be seen

Women are still underrepresented at management level, men often only take parental leave for a very short time, and part-time work is usually only an option for women. Is that still in keeping with the times? No, we think not. That's why our W:isible initiative creates a platform for exchange about equality in the workplace and makes structural obstacles visible.

W:isible is a central lever for innovative strength and cooperation at EOS.

Together with you and all our colleagues, we are committed to ensuring that everyone has the same career opportunities - regardless of gender and time availability. Our cooperation is guided by the ten principles of our W:isible Charter:

The W:isible principles

We are brave.

We stand for empowerment and collaboration.

We design a network for all genders.

We say yes to change and no to gender stereotypes.

We are fully committed to equality at EOS.

We increase the visibility of inspiring women at EOS.

We support the career paths of women at EOS.

We openly address discrimination and disadvantages.

We do not tolerate sexism at EOS.

We reinforce diversity at EOS in every way.

No end to the rainbow

EOS should be a workplace where you can show all facets of yourself, feel comfortable and understood. Since 2019, our European network of LGBTQ+ colleagues in the Queer@EOS community has served as a point of contact and supported personal development. Because no human being is more valuable than another and each of us deserves equal opportunities and respect.

The goal of our Queer@EOS community is that each of us enjoys coming to work and that no one is excluded. This attitude should also be clearly visible in our office. That's why we have gender-neutral restrooms, a Queer Dictionary, and events like Starter Days, Rainbow Nights, and our "Welcoming Out" label for a Queer-Friendly Company, which is currently being developed. In the future, we as a Queer@EOS community would like to work even more closely with the entire Otto Group, which includes a new intranet presence to showcase our work within the group.

#weAREquals is an initiative launched by Queer@EOS and supported by W:isible for more diversity and, above all, against discrimination.

A small * with a big meaning

Our language decisively determines how we perceive our world and has a major identity function within society. Even today, it is still often the case that our language tends to be male-dominated and excludes women and other genders. Yet gender-sensitive language is an essential tool for implementing gender equality. That is why we at EOS design our communication in such a way that everyone feels addressed and valued.
